Y.M.C.A. ACTIVITY.
Per Press Association Wellington, Last Night. Mr. Lyman L. Pierce, national secretary of the Y.M.C.A., and Mr. W. Gillanders, his associate, were entertained at a citizens' banquet in Wellington tonight. It was decided to inaugurate at once a seven days' campaign to raise £7OOO for the purpose of opening free of debt the building now being erected for the Association in Wellington. Mrs. M- A. Williams, .who gave the site for the building, wrote offering a donation of £IOOO provided the £7OOO is raised. Auckland, Last Night. The . canvass in connection with the Y.JJ.C.A. campaign has not been attended with the success anticipated. Today only £254 was received, bringing the total up to £12,674, including the £4OOO expected to be realised in connection with the sale of the old builds ing. In order to raise the sum required within the time originally specified £4325 must be collected in five days. '
