MIACLE OF FAITH.
A blind woman is reported to have partially recovered jier sight as the reenlt of bathing at the famous St. Winifot many devout Roman Catholics in fred Well, Holywell, the Welsh ileca search of cures. The woman is Miss Slary Hanliia, about 40 years of age, of Seacomiie, Cheshire, who went to Holywell on August 12. Her story of the cure is interesting. Ten years ago she had a bad fall while alighting from a horse-omnibus at Liverpool. One of the effects of the accident was a gradual failure of her eyesight, and two years after she became quite blind, and was unable to do any work, anil hn<l to )>'' led about. On the evening of her arrival at Holvwell she bathed her eyes with the v..r T of the well, which, she stated, caused her great pain in the head. She bathed in the well on the three following days. On the h-t day, after dressing liersell. she joined in the prates, ion around the crypt, led by a little girl. When she got* near the priest, who was holding up the relic of the saint to be kissed, she exclaimed, "God bless nie. whatever's that,'' and she states that she "could see someone in robes and something shining" (the gold medallion in which the relic is encased). She afterwards walked up to hrr lodgings without assistance. Each day her sight has continued to improve, and although it cannot be said she has fully regained her sight, she is in a fair way to do so. She is now easily able to distinguish persons, objects, and colors, and believes that her sight will continue to improve. She is now able to ~o about the slieets entirely unassisted.
