A SHOOTING EPISODE.
Per Tress Association. Wellington, Last Night. A young man named James McAllion was charged at the Magistrate's Court to-day with having discharged a loaded revolver at a laborer named Thomas Smith. He was remanded tjjl the 10th instant. It is alleged that Smith, wno lives in Wingfield-sa'eet, heard some men arguing in front of his house, and went outside to ask them to leave. As he turned to re-enter the house, McAllion, it is stated, fired two shots at him, but neither hit him. The men in front made a row, and the police came up and arrested them. One was drunk. He was fined for drunkenness this morning.
