SUICIDE AT TIKORANGI.
WELL-KNOWN SETTLER FOUND DEAD. The local police received word yesterday morning that a xveU-known settler had committed suicide by hanging Tho unfortunate man was found to be Mr (jeorge William Cunningham, a Hurried mail, aged 54 years. The body was found hanging in a small building recently used as a woolslied. Life was extinct. The police at Waitara. were immediately communicated with, and Constable Price went to I'ikoraugi to make enquiries. The deceased had been in indifferent health for some time past, and latterly is s.ud to have been worrying considerably over land transactions. llis despondency was heightened by a recent attack of influenza, land no doubt this contributed to the state of mind which ultimately brought about his untimely end. He leaves a wife and family. An inquest is to be held to-day.
