WHAT'S WANTED is a very superior well-bred colt, B years old, of the very best quality .and true type of the Clydesdale breed, standing 10 bands 2 inches high, on short legs. He is a very massive horse, with clean, flat bones, strong and well-formed joints, beautiful silky hair, and feet .of good quality. He has a beimtiful head, neck, and crest, well-sprung ribs, and strong, short-coupled back. Altogether, he is a most compactly built, well-put-together specimen of a Clydesdale horse. WHAT'S WANTED as a yearling gained iirst price at the Egmont A. and P. Society's Show, and first prize as a two-year-old nt the Taramtki Metropolitan Show. His sire, Armadale, was got by that celebrated breeding and. show-ring sire Glengyle, out of the fine breeding mare Nancy, who was shown until 13 years of age, and was never beaten in her class. She won nine first and four champion prizes. Duchess of Alexander's gr. dam, Jenny, was one of the best draught mares ever bred or imported to the colony, being dam of Hie Jsicw Zealand and Australian champion mare, Mower of Balmoral.
Ilia (liini, Duchess of Alexandra, was U moat successful prize-winner, having gained the following prizes, viz.:— First and champion at Tapanui ('South Tslaml) as a two-year-old. .first prize at Egmont A. and P. Society's Show. First anil cliampion at Wangariui. First and cliampion at Taranaki. First prize as brood mare and champion prize as best draught mare
or filly at Taranaki Metropolitan Show. New Plymouth, 1000. From the foregoing it will be seen that WHAT'S WANTED'S breeding cannot be surpassed, and he is certain to prove himself a getter of the very best type of Clydesdales.
