' Tho eighth annual report and balanceI sheet of the Inglewood Bacon Company reveal a satisfactory position of affairs, j The report states that the result of the [ ye.ir's operations had been very satisfactory iu every respect, There had been an increase of fifty per cent, in the number of pigs received, and the cumber of new shareholders, also showed a substantial increase. As anticipated in I last year's report, the business of the company in the past twelve months had had most satisfactory results. During the year the sum of £Oll 19s Id had been'paid to the shareholders above the market price, md the directors had been enabled to uithorise the payment of a further sum oj £405 12s, making the price paid to shareholders for pork three farthings per pound above market price for tho whole' of the year." The sum of £l7O 2s 2d bad been written off for depreciation, and there was an available balance of £250 lis 3d to the credit of the profit and loss account. Out of this amount Ihe directors recommended that a dividend of live per cent, on share capital be paid, and that the balance be carried forward. Three directors, Messrs. K. Kenny, J. Davidson, and W. ! Harkncss, renre by rotation, and arc eligible for're-election at the annual meeting on Saturday, 12th inst. Tho trading account showed that at the beginning of the war there was stock m hand valued at £2llO 7s TOd; pigs (with bonus) cost £868(1 2s sd; wages, £Bio 12s;<*material, £OO2 Ms; meal, £22.) l')s 4(1 Bacon and hams were sold to tho amount of £10,850 18s land £498 18s 4d curing £270 2s 2d, and meal , £"3O 8s 3d; stock in hand, including meal and material, was worth £2484 5s sd. Assets showed a balance of £250 ' lis 3d over liabilities. ,
