GAMBLING IN CLUBS.
Per Press Association. , Wellington, Tuesday. At a meeting of the Council of Churches held last night the following resu hit ion was adopted:—"That in view ol the evidence received concerning constant gambling in one of the clubs in \\ cllingloi), this Council believes the police .should have and should exercise supervision of all clubs in this respect." llie Council proposes to pursue the question in all ways in its power, believing tlie public interest, requires the suppression of club gambling.
