Chatting to a, factory manager thej other vlay, a "News" reporter found that, as a general rule, butter-makers never feel proud of the winter output. The fodder supplied during the winter months is not calculated to give us good results as a plentiful supply of grass. The best butter was that nmnufactured in March, April, nnj in May up to the time of commencing haadfeeding. The grass at that season is close and well-matured, and there is little or no weed growth. The iirst butter of the season, made when eotvs are grazing on the new grass and weeds, is never reliable except for immediate use.
