Veal calves sold at 4s to £2, according to size and quality.
Thi store and dairy tattle were a mixed lot, and mostly in low condition. There was a dull sale. Yearlings sold at 20s to 245, 15 to 18-mouths 30s to 395, two-year steers £2 10s to '£2 19s, twoyear'heifers £2 2s to £2 12s Od, threeyear steers £3 10s to £4 2s, three-year heifers £3 2s 6d. dry cows 15s to £3 10*, dairy cows £3 10s to £0 17s Od.
Bacoiu-rs sold from 50s to 70s, extra heavy to 83s (equal to od to s>/ 2 d per lb). Porkers made from 30s to 445.- The store pens were well filled, and these pigs met a keen demand. Weaners 4s 9d to 17s Od, medium stores 20s to 255, larger sorts 20s to 30s.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. report.—Horses: On Friday heavv draughts realised from £2O 5s to £35; medium do., £lB 10s to £32 15s; light harness horses, £8 10s to £2O 15s; Courtland waggon, £2B. On Saturday, at Waiuku, dairy cows realised from" £3 10s to £7 15s; empty do., £2 2s 6d to £3 8s; calves, £1 0s to £2 14s; two to three-year-old steers, £2 15s to £4 12s Od. Cattle: At Newmarket on Tuesday dairy cows sold at from £3 10s to £ll lis; calves, 18s to £1 lis; empty cows, £2 2s to £3 12s Od. Bidding was spirited, and last week's prices ruled. Oxen sold to 30s per 10011); cows, 20s to 24* per 1001b. Steers sold at from £0 12s Od to £l6; eovs, £4 7s Od to .£!) 10s. Wethers realised from £1 8s 0d to £2 2> 9d; ewes, £1 2s to £1 4s Od; hoggets, lfls Od to £1 8s 9d; spring lambs, 13s 6d to £1 ss. Pigs: Scarce and wanted. Best mixed, up to 28s, good 20s Od to 275, inferior 22s to 24s 6d, rough fat l%d per lb. GRAIN AND PRODUCE REPORT.
Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their tortuightly sale of grain and produce on Tuesday. The attendance of buyers was not as large as usual, and a number of lots had to be passed in owing to prices bid not reaching market values or owners' reserves.
Oats—The market is quiet and sa'es j effected are on a very small scale. Both the Australian and Tasmanian markets have hardened, which has had the effect of checking consignments coming in from these centres, Merchants in the South Island continue to ask prices on a par with values ruling for some time past. We quote: —Seed oats os Od lo 3s Bd, prime feed oats 3s 3d to 3s sd, medium feed oats 3s to 3s 2d per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat—This market is firm. Fowl wheat is still in good demand, and several fairly large lines of South Island wheat have recently changed handi. We quote: Best whole fowl wheat Is 7d to -Is 9d, medium 4s 4d to 4s (id, damaged 4s to 4s 3d per bushel (sacks extra). Potatoes—The market is still in a glutted state, and sales of all descriptions are diflicult to effect. We qiiote: Best table potatoes CI 12s Od lo £l, medium £3 5s to £3 Ills, others £2 IDs to CI per ton (bags in). Maize is in fair demand. We quote: Best Auckland maize v.p to 4s, be~t Australian maize 3s lid 3s !)d. medium 3o 3d to 3s sil per bushel (sacks extra). Chaff—There is no quotable change in values. Within the past week chaff has been offering from Lyttelton at slight'/ reduced rates, aßd this has consequently steadied the local market. We quot>: Prime oaten sheaf €5 12s Od to £5 15s (extra up to €6), medium £5 5s to £5 10s per ton (bags extra). WILSON AND NOLAN'S REPORT. Messrs Wilson and Nolan report is follows for the week ending September 28th:
Poultry—We had the usual entry, and everything sold well. We quote: Hens Is 8d to 2s 3d, fat hens 2s 3d to 2s 9d, cockerels 2s to 2s 6d, pullets Is lOd to 2s 4d, roosters Is Od to 2s, ducks 2s Id to 2s 3d. Sundries—A quantity offered, and sold at buyers' price. Fruit—No business to report. Stock—We report sales for the week: Twelve dairy cows £5 ss, thirty ditto, £5 7s Od, twenty 18 months' heifers £1 15s, 15 yearling ditto 255, 14 store cows. 48s, six' IS months' steers £2 10s, 55 %-year steers £4 10s, yearling bulls 30s, three-year-old bulls 40s, 120 ewes and lambs 21s Od.
