THE IRONSAND !KDUSTf.Y. ESTABLISHMENT OF COMPANY j ASSURED. Per Press Association. Wellington, September 27. The Public Trustee informed a Post •eporter that lite underwriting of the ■apital of the Parapara Syndicate for Juvcloping the concession to the late Alfred Cadman had been completed both in New Zealand and in England. The notation of the company on the market will be undertaken at the first favourable opportunity. The capital is €OOO,OOO. INTERVIEW. WITH MR. BERRY. A News reporter sought Mr. Berry in connection with the above item, and was informed that the information is substantially fii-reet. The amount floated in New Zealand was £IOO,OOO, and this was all raised in a record time, some £37,000 being subscribed in one afternoon. The English capital is all guaranteed, and the flotation will be put hi hand almost immediately. Mr. Berry is not yet informed as to the modus operandi of the new company, but has no doubt that works will be established at New Plymouth as well as Parapara, although perhaps the latter will get a little earlier attention. We were informed from the same source that it is now nearly seven years since the late Sir Alfred*Cadman and Mr. Berry took this matter in hand, and since that lime they have spent many thousands upon the venture with, until lately, very little hope of success. Everyone will be pleased to hear that their perseverance will be at last rewarded, not only in a pecuniary sense, but also in the knowledge that they have done well for the colony also. It is to be regretted that the Into Sir Alfred Cadman and the late Mr. E. M. Smith did not live to see the fruits of their labors. The former did not spare himself or purse, while the latter gave the best of his life to it, aiH thought more of seeing the establishment uf ironworks on a large scale than of any pecuniary gain.
