Mohawk (004), the sire of Elmo, time 2.12; was also the sire of Clark's Mohawk, time 2.25; and in turn the sire of Yellow Dock, time 2J.1, and 'many others with 2.30 records. Judge Belden, sire of Count Belden, was sold with a public trial of 2.17, and was the most handsome stallion that ever left America. At the Royal Agricultural Show, Sydney, N.S.W., he gained First and Champion Prizes three years iu succession. Judge Belden (imp.) is the sire of Bellman, winner of the Auckland Trot, Canterbury Victoria Handicap, and Progressive Handicap in 1808, aftd the Auckland Electric rot in 1897. Duke C., out of the same dam as Count Belden (imp.), won Epsom Trot of two miles, time 5.7%; June Handicap and Glasgow Trot, at Auckland. COUNT BELDEN cannot be beaten for getting Carriage Horses and Hackneys of the right stamp, as his size and breeding must prevail in leaving good stock and fast trotters. Countess, dam of Count Belden, and sire's pedigree are as follows:—Countess —by Echo (402) son of Rydks; Hambletonian—from Nita, by Sawel's Hamblctonian—from Betsy Austin, by Montreal, a Canadian pacer.
