Received Sept. 27, O.U a.m. London, September 20. Sir (ieorge Arbuthnot, partner in the "rni of Arbuthnot and Co., bankers, of .Madras and London, was tried at .Madras on a criminal charge in connection with the linn's bankruptcy, and sentenced to eighteen months' rigorous imprisonment!
