THE GOOLDS.
PAST HISTORY COMING TO LIGHT. Monte Carlo, September 23. Barker, a resident of Capmartin, informed the magistrate who is conducting tlie trial of Mr and Mrs Goold for the murder of Madame Levin, that after tho Goolds had visited his house hia wife missed a pendant worth 300 francs. The pendant was found amongst Mrs Goold's jewels. She explained that she had found it in a street. A rich lady visitor to Monte Carlo stated that two years ago Mrs Goold, finding that she (the visitor) was a successful gambler and the possessor of a necklace worth £4OOO, forced an acquaintance and strongly urged her to call at the Coolds' flat. Mrs Goold's persistence and strange looks frightened the lady, who never called. She now congratulates* herself upon escaping Madame Levin's fate.
