DOMINION DAY.
OBSERVANCES IN WELLINGTON. . : Per Press Association. Wellington, Last Night; "Hen His Excellency the Governor rends the proclamation at Parliament Buildings at U a.m. on Thursday, about itty ofiicers and men from H.M.S. Chalcnger will be present and form part of the guard of honour. During the after, noon 100 men from the warship will be present at the review at Newtown Park. On the platform at the Town Hall in the evening will be His Excellency the Governor and Lady Plunket, the Prime Minister and Lady Ward, members of the Government, members of the Council of Defence, naval officers, Judges of the Supreme Court, and foreign Consuls, and in front will be seats for members of Parliament and their wives, members, of the City Uouncil and Harbour Board, and representatives of the clergy and officers of the battalion.
. Glsborne, Last Night. No arrangements have yet been made for celebrating Dominion Day. There is little prospect of getting a muster cf volunteers to be present at the reading ot the proclamation. A memorial to Mrs. feievewright will be unveiled during the day. 6
The Dominion Day programme for New Plymouth is not very elaborate. The volunteers (two companies) and cadets will fall-in at the Drill Hall.at 1.45 p.m., and march to the racecourse at 2 p.m. to take part in the celebrations. A feu de joie will be fired. If the weather is suitable the Taranaki Riiles' colors will be carried by Lieutenants Humphries and Beadle, and the Rifles will Bupply a sergeant and two rr.en for the guard. The military will not parade in the morning.
