NEW PLYMOUTH CRICKET CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING.
The annual general meeting of the New Plymouth Cricket Club was held at the Borough Council Chambers last evening. There was a fair attendance, and Mr E. Whittle presided. The annual report showed that last season was a successful one, the senior team again winning the Robertson Cup. The junior club players had improved, some good form being shown, ft was thought that two. Senior teams could be put In the field 'during the coming season. It was expected that the Recreation sports ground would bo. available during the season, and on this .ground improved cricket should obtain. Reference was made to. the clubs loss of Mr J. 8. Fleming, who had done much to help cricket in New Plymouth. A tribute was also paid to the memory of the late Mr C. Ronnell, who had always been a keen sunporter of the club. The balance-sheet showed that the club was in a very fair financial condition, having a credit balance of £8 2s M. .
The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The following new members were elect ed:-Messrs T. Russell, S. Jackson P Johnston, Baker, Dixon, T. P Ander «on, K. and-P. Webster, J. S. Muldoo,,, J-owster, Archer, Jack and Skelton. Ihe election of officers resulted President, Hon. O. Samuel, MLC vice-presidents, Messrs S. Rennell,' 'd f c whin ' , Watk!n3; cl " b «*P tai ». & h. Whittle; hon. sec. and treasurer, Mr Herg; committee Messrs Liglitbaml Nichol Gordon, Brereton, Steads, Hassell, Lash, Williams, with club captain and secretary ex officio; delegate to Assoeiation, Mr A. S. Hassell; delegate to Sports Committee, Mr H. Stockcrauditor, Mr E. 0. Lightband.
The subscription for the year wis fixed at £1 for senior members, and 10a for juniors and seniors under in years, with power to reduce in eases should the committee think fitsubscriptions to be paid, within one month from November Ist. In the event of members failing to pay sub senptions, their names will bo "forwardc to the Association.
The committee were authorised to have the book of rules revised. It was decided to allow the ]'IH, School and Central School to eaefi nominate two players as members of the club.

It was -decided that two senior teams, and, if possible, a junior team, be put in the field this season, it being anticipated that there would be sufficient players for the three teams. It was resolved to recommend to the committee to try to arrange districts (oast and west). The. matter was discussed at length, the opinion beimr voiced that rivalry between the dig! tricts would prove of benefit -to cricket In connection with the matter of a ground, the chairman slated that the Reo. would be barfly fit for laving a pilch on for some time. The club had secured permission (o again use the Tnkapa. ground under the old arrangement.
It was agreed to have the Tukapa ground put in order in time for the opening of the season.
The opening day of ibe season is to be arranged by the committee. Votes of thanks to the chair and to tho press concluded a successful meeting,
