Mr. Faruell, Commissioner at Lord llowe, has relumed from a visit to the island, lie declares there is not a hap- | pier or mui'o contented community in existence. During liis eight years' CominUsiunership there had not been a single case of crime. The crop* were looking well, and the prospects generally were encouraging. An epidemic 0/ whooping cough hist month caused the deaths ol three children.
