MURDERS AT THE ISLANDS.
HELPLESSNESS OF REPATRIATED NATIVES.
Received Sept. 23, 11 p.m. Brisbane, September 2S. . Hiss Young, of the South Seas evangelical mission, from the island of Malaita, brings tidings of several murders during the past few months. At Malu last month one of the mission teachers was fatally shot by heathen natives. Ten days before she visited Main, a man and a woman, returned natives, were also murdered. Threats had been made to kill other teachers, and even the white missionaries. -Murders hud also taken place within the last three months at Terraciana and Simarango, the latter place being the scene of no fewer than six murders. .Miss Young describes as monstrous the policy oi sending back to the Islands men anil women deprived of means of I defending themselves against armed natives.
