FEDERAL DEFENCE PREPARATIONS Melbourne, September 21. The House of Representatives is discussing the defence vote. The Minister of Defence stated that Australia was in a better position in regard to artillery and ammunition, than ever. At the some time he admitted that guns had been in stock for some years for which there were no limber waggons and no ammunition.
