They can also get * coal from some companies outside the combine, but it so happens in the present instance that the other coal would .. not suit the firm which gave the charter. Coal importers hero state that owing to the abnormal demand for coa • at Newcastle, inter-state shipping firms are being seriously inconvenienced. PROBABLE RISE IN PKIOE. a Received Sept. 23, 0.32 a.m. Sydney, September 22. It is reported an advance in. Newcastle coal to lis is likely within a few weeks. The reason for the delay Is that several collieries are averse to a rise at present, and desire to secure uniformity of price throughout the district.
