WORLD'S LARGEST ANIMAL.

SKELETON OF A SAURIAN 314 FEET LONG. New York, July 25. The largest fossilised skeleton of a saurian ever discovered has been unearthed in Wyoming. It is 314 ft long, and according to experts the creature when alive must have weighed ]oo,ooolbs. The skeleton is in excellent condition. This fossil reptile creates a new and amazing record, if the figures given are correct. No animal, living or extinct, has yet been found whose length reached 100 ft. The lizard-like reptile Diplodoeus, whose skeleton is 84y s ft long, is the largest known. The original is in the Carnegie Institute at Pittsburg, (U.S.A.), and a plaster east of the monster, presented by Mr Carnegie to the King, was placed in the Natural History Museum, South Kensington, in 1005.
