Ljne, the Federal Treasurer, caused much merriment in the House of Bepresentatires by presenting a petition against the tariff from his own electorate, signed, apparently, by himself and Mr lX'.ikin, the Premier, amongst others. Sir W. Lyne protested against the petition as being fak»l. The matter was m-rred to the Print ing Committee to investigate.
