BALLOON RACING.
Brussels, September 17. Twenty-nine balloons left Brussels for a long-distance race. Professor Huntington's balloon .Zephyr descended -«t Cazanbon, in the South of France. The balloon "Britannia," belonging to the Hon. C. S. Rolls (England) did not travel quite so far. It descended it Arrachon, on the west coast of France.
GERMANY FIRST. Received Sept. 18, 0.51 p.m. Brussels, September 18. The German balloon "Pommcrn" descended at Bayonne, winning the international contest. It travelled 1000 kilometres from Brussels. The Swiss balloon "Cognac" and the British ''Zephyr" are bracketed second.
