THE INFLUENZA EPIDEMIC.
o Pet. Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The teachers in the employment of ■" the Auckland Education Board have been largely affected, as well as the scholars, by the epidemic of influenza that is visiting the district, and the chairman reported at to-day's meeting - of the Board that leave of absence had been granted to thirty-four teachers, and of tin's number twenty-six were still unwell. Greymouth, Last Night. Most of the business places are working short-handejl owing to employees being indisposed through influenza. The epidemic is attacking both old and young. There has been a very heavy death-roll among the old people on the Coast.
