SERIOUS ACETYLENE EXPLOSION.

Per Press Association. Greymouth, Last Night. A serious explosion occurred at Cobden last evening, when a young man named Hayes, sixteen years of age, was badly injured. It appears he was fixing an acetylene generator for Mr, Taylor, who was standing watching, when it exploded. The shed was blown to pieces, and Hayes was found in the debris unconscious and bleeding profusely. Taylor had a miraculous escape, BUBtaining only slight injuries. A doctor found that Hayes was suffering from a deep wound on the forehead, his left eye blown out, the little finger on the left hand off, and the fingers on the right hand shattered.
