Tte Lusitania was 135 miles eastward |JL of Nantncket ('an island off the south coast of Massachnssetts and about 300 ~ mlies from New York) last evening. The distance from Liverpool to New York is 3028 miles. A cable message dated London, September Bth, stated that the Lusitania had sailed for Now York two and a-half hours after the Lncania. It is not clear whether the Lncania was travelling east or west, but presumably she was leaving New York. The Lusitania is 790 ft long, 88ft ia breadth, 80ft in depth to boat deck, am! •draws S7ft Bin. Her displacement on load draught is 45,000 tons. The horsepower developed by her turbine engines is 68,000, and the contract speed U 23 knots an hour. Up to the present the fastest steamers in the Atlantic passenger trade have been: Deotseldanrt (German), 18,502 tons, 23'/ 2 knots; Kaiser WflhelmU. (German), 19,361 tons, 83% knots; Kronprinz Wuhelm (German), 14,808 tons, 23 knots; Kaiser Wil helm der Grosse (German), 14,349 tons. 2254 knots; Lucania (British), 12.P52 tons, 22 knots; Campania (British) tons, 22 knot*.
