P«r Press Association, Napier, Last Night. The Auckland ladies' hockey team played a Napier team drawn chiefly from the Maroro and Clive Clubs today, and suffered defeat by 4 goah to. nil. The local team had the best of H» play all through, particularly in the second spell, The Wanganui Jadics' team were beaten by the Huia Hockey Club by 3 goals to 1, NEW PLYMOUTH v." CARMNGTON EOAD. Tho above match was played in the Carrington-road ground yesterday, and resulted in a win for New Plymouth by 2 goals to 1. For the winners goals were placed by Pagan (2), and for tlu losers Harding scored tho only goal. The game, considering the muddy stnto of the ground, was fast and interesting, Mv. Robertson icfereed in his usual capable manner.
