FALSE PRETENCES.
Per Press Association. Dnnedin, Last Night. A young man named Frederick Thos. Dart was committed for trial at the P..liiv Court to-day on a charge of obtaining two suits of clothes from a tailoring cstahlislftuent by means of fal-e pretence-. Accu-ec'l represented that he was in the employment of a well-known cycle agent, ami after getting the clothes left the colony for Australia, returning to the Bluff aj a coaltrimmer in a steamer a few days ago, where he was arrested. Inquiries showed that he waa not employed by the cycle agent referred to, and it transpired that he obtained both suits of clotnes on the same day. In one ease accused represented that he wanted the clothes to attend his brother's wedding at Oatuaru.
