PROFESSIONALISM IN SPORT.

I Wellington, Last Night. / I Delegates representing various ath- | letic bodies throughout the colony: [football, swimming, boxing, cijeketf hockey, tennis, running, etc., met in Wellington to-day to consider a circular issued by the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association for the protection of sports bodies from professionalism, and to enlieavor to invoke tie aid of Legislature. A resolution was adopted In favor of forming a federation off sports bodies, and a committee was ap4 pointed to draw up a draft constitution. The Conference resumes to-morrow.
