FARM AMD DAIRY NOTES.

The annual report of the Kaponga Dairy Company states that during the year ended June 30th, 290 tons 13cwt Oqr lib of butter was made from 15,-HU,-'BMbs of milk which yielded 589,7«31bs of butter-fat, an average of 23.011>3 of milk to lib of butter. The average test was 3.8 and the overrun 10.38. During the same period over 20 tons of chyse was made from 381,4731bs of milk, which yielded 19,4(i01bs of butter-fat, the arc-! rage test being 5.1. The balance-sheet showed the following items of revenue: Butter sold, £28,141 13s 3d; butter stock, £ll6 4s; cheese sold, £758 l!ls sd; cheese stock, £294 Ins Bd. Messrs Mellow and Gibson were re-eleeted directors.

The Mangatoki Dairv Company received 24,254,4151b of' milk, yielding 905,5951b of butter-fat, which gave 451 tons 3qr 41b of butter. The overrun was 11.68. A sum of £643 15s was written off for depreciation and a dividend of 5 per cent. paid.

The West Australian Department of Agriculture is following the lead of the Victorian Department in erecting silos for farmers, the cost to be paid on the instalment plan, extending over three years, interest at the rate of 10 per cent, to be charged. Forty silos are to be erected to commence with.
