RIFLE SHOOTING.
IMPERIAL POSTAL MATCH.
Received Sept. 5, 0.40 a.m. Sydney, September 4. The Empire Postal rifle match was fired to-day. New South Wales, Victoria, New Zealand, Transvaal, Canada, and England competed. The local team fired under most favourable weather conditions, and scored 000. Victoria scored Bflo. The oversea results are expected to-morrow.
Per Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Wellington Post and Telegraph Rifles fired to-day in a ten-man nint;h against the postal teams of London, Montreal, Natal, Melbourne, and Sydney. The local men fired in heavy rain, and compiled a total of 838 at 200, 500, and 600 yads, seven shots at each range.
