SOUTHLAND v. AUCKLAND. Per Press Association. Invcrcargill, last night. j The football match Southland v, j Auckland to-day was won by Auckj land by ten to nil. The game -vas mostly a forward one, and play was not of a very high standard, though fast and interesting. Against a slight breeze in (lie first psell, Auckland got a lead with c penalty goal by Magco. With the wind in the second spell, Auckland had all the best of the game. Twinime potted-n goal early in the spell, nnd just before the call of time Cooke scored a soft try. Auckland were superior throughout, but neither side showed scoring ability.
