; AMENDMENTS OBJECTED TO. I Per Press Association. ; Wellington, Sept. 4. ! The following resolution has been ' adopted by the Australasian Federated Seamen's Union: "That this Union pxprosses- disapproval of those clauses in the Conciliation-and Arbitration Act Amendment Bill pertaining to the abolition of Boards of Conciliation find replacing them with Industrial Councds; restricting Unions in respect to the use of their funds; the compelling of nonunionists to contribute to the funds of Unions, thereby abrogating the long sought for principle of preferenoo to unionists; the compelling of unions with , their central head outside New Zealand to retain two-thirds of their ns- i sets in the colony; -authorising employers to deduct 25 per cent, of wag.'s ! duo to the worker for the purpose of c liquidating any fine that might be m- > vosod;- prohibiting Unions from regis- ] ' tonng under the Trade Union Act, and « I prohibiting any person who is not- em-1° ployed or has not been employed in the P trade of which a Union is represent*- a tive from holding tho position of an * officer or a seat on tho committee of management.
