ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Per Press Association. Thames, Last night. Frederick Meave, a resident of Kerepehi, fell into the Piako River this morning, and was drowned. Efforts were [made to rescue ±>ieave, but he was swept away by the swift current. Gisborne, Friday.
Nathaniel Fitzgerald, son of a sheepfarmer, died at Tolagoa Bay from injuries received through a horse falling and rolling on him. Inve'rcargill, East night. William Stewart, aged 10, of Gorgcrad, died suddenly to-day. The cause of death is unkno"wn_at present, though deceased had had iniluenza and had besn ailing since Wednesday. Christehurch, Last night. An old man named_ William Henry Thome, 03 years of age, was found drowned in the Heathcote iver this afternoon. He had bceji missing since yesterday.
