FRENCH NAVAL COMMISSION'S INQUIRY. -"-•* THE JENA DISASTER.
Received 3Uth, 12.17 a.m. Paris, August 29.
The Commission appointed by the Senate to inquire into the disastrous explosion on the battleship Jena on March 12, scathingly denounces the lack of coordination amongst the various branches of the naval service, and goes on to say that constructors are unaware" of the composition or nature of powder stored. In some instances warships' magazines have been placeiTncxt to compartments where the temperature is always high.
