SUICIDE IN GAOL.
Per Press Association. Dunedin, August 28. A man named Win. Millar, 40 years ' - of ago, who was arrested last night on a charge of drunkenness, hanged himself in a cell, in tho gaol to-dav. Millar was before the Court at 10.30, and re- ~ manded for a week for medical treat- * ment. At 12 o'clock he received his dinner, but an hour later was found bus- "£ pended by the neek from a small hook "• in the wall, having hanged himself with a leather belt. Millar was a recent arrival from Scotland, and so far as is f known, had no friends or relatives in - ; b Dunedin. •"
