ACCOUNTANTS' INSTITUE.

I Per Press Association. Wellington, August 28. The annual meeting of the Incorporated Institute of Accouutants of New Zealand is being held at Wellington today; Mr 11. Hill Fisher, of Christchurch, the president, in tlie chair.

The council reports. that of cightytliree candidates sent up for the October examination, nine passed as fellows and twenty-six as associates. The total membership at the end of the year numbered 248, consisting of 136 fellows, 81 associates, and 31 students. There is £450 on fixed deposit. The expenditure exceeded the income by £4O. A motion has been tabled to rescind the resolution, adopting the term Incorporated Accountant New Zealand as a distinctive title of members. The council records its appreciation of the services rendered by Mr N. Brown, of Dunedin, who was president for four years.
