CHASTITY BY ENACTMENT.
NOVEL DIVORCE LAW. London, August 20. The Daily Telegraph states that pulpit eulogies were made throughout the State of New York on Sunday on the Divorce Law which will corny into operation next Sunday. It is expected to re. duee divorce cases by three-fourths. It enacts that married persons convicted of infidelity will be subject to six months' imprisonment, or a fine of Cofl, or both. j.lc--c Phillips, a young lawyer, is the author of the law.
