Per Press Association, Dunedin, August Zi. At a meeting of the City Council this afternoon, it was decided to confirm the agreement for the purchase of the Caversham gasworks at the price of £14,000. The purchase does not include liquid assets such as coal, tar, pipes, meters, etc., which will be taken over at valuation, at the option of the Corporation. Tto. purchase was made subject to the Bill before Parliament becoming law. I'hree members of the Council opposed the purchase. , -j.
