Christchurch, August 27.

The representative of the late T. E. Young, the engine-driver on the Government railways who was recently killed at the Christchurch railway station, has [sent in a claim to the Christchurch City Council for £2OOO compensation, i-'oung's engine collided with several nightsoil trucks, and the negligence of the Council's servants is alleged to have caused the accident. The Council denies liability.
