EVIDENCE AT- THE ENQUIRY, 4 "4 Brisbane, August 21. 1 * At the i inquiry into the Ingeborg- f i Arawatta collision, Albertson, mate'Of ' " the Ingeborg, deposed "that" the lights of the Ingeborg were all right a few ' minutes before the collision, and they were not hidden. He saw t)ie Arawatta for lialf an hour before the collision. Ho admitted, however, that on -some nights during the voyage from Wellington tho '' Ingeborg's lights had not been lit. -f Received 22nd, 12.2 a.m. J Brisbane, August 21. I 3S{r Albertson testified at the inquiry • \ that the lights were lit for 10 or 17 ij nights after leaving New Zealand, but ] wore not lighted on five or six nights, St as they were short of oil. He denied that he had run out of oil on the night 1 of the collision. He staled that the | lamps were lit that night. When the 3 lamps were not lit, a man stood by i i-eady to light a moment's notice. J The seaman, who was at the wheel be- $ tween 2 and 3 on' the niurniug of' the | collision, stated the lights were burning brightly when he was relieved.
