He refused, and heated words followed, and, in a lit of rage, accentuated by drink, he stabbed her in the back. Only one blow was struck.

His wife did not participate, and he alone cut the body up, and placed the dismembered parts in the trunk and valise.

Robbery was not the motive, for he had ample means to live.
