GUILTY OF MANSLAUGHTER.

William Stanton, who had. been practising here for some time past as a healer and cancer eurer, was convicted of manslaughter in respect of the death from diphtheria of a young man treated by him. Stanton had failed to diagnose the case as one of diphtheria, and his treatment, according to the medical testimony, was absolutely useless for the purpose of checking the complaint. Had the patient received proper treatment his life would have been saved. Sentence waß deferred until tomorrow. •
