He m helping to coal the Miowera, and ahortly before ten o'clock this morning he came out of the hulk's hold complaining of pains in his chest, and of not feeling well. Going on board the steamer he rested on a seat, thinking that after a little time be would be all right. A few minutes afterwards he gave a few gaaps and dropped over on his ride. Dr. Berrle pronounced life to be extinet. Death was attritmted to failure of heart. Deeeased was sixty-two years of age. Wm. Trott, who was seriously injured as the result of an explosion of benzine in the workshops in the railway yards yesterday, died in the hospital" this morning. At the inquest held thi- afternoon the theory put forward by experts was that benzine had been poured on lire ashes In a stove, thn* causing an explosion. The jury returned a verdict to the effect that death was due to shock caused by severe burns su-ianicd in an explosion of benzine, but that there was no evidence to show how the explosion ha<f been caused.
