FIGHTING THE TRUSTS.
CHARGE OF EXTORTION. New York, August 12. The Commissioner at Washington, who is inquiring into the methods of large trade corporations, in a fresh instalment of his report, accuses the Standard Oil Trust of extortion by discriminating against the home consumer. ITe says the trust having a monopoly is charging lower prices abroad in order to maintain its dominance at the expense of the American people.
