VETERAN COLONIST DEAD.
~f Per Press Association. Auckland, August C. Sir William Trice, who died at Turauga Creek this morning, aged 01, vvas the oldest settler in the district. He left Kent, England, in 1841, and* lauded iu Wellington with his brother, intending to settle there, but came on to Auckland six months afterwards, and resided in thc north till the time of his death. He took a greaf interest in public affairs, and was interested in church work in the Howick oad Turanga Creek district*
