FLAXMILLERS AND LAND TAX.

Wellington, August 6. , A deputation oT flaxmillers waited on the Premier to-day and pointed out that the .Land—lnoaine—Aeafißninanfr Hill. uadrafted, would injure the flax industry. Under the Hill of 1003 a tax was recoverable on the unimproved valuo of land, and llaxmillers were allowed to debit the cost of raw material against their income. That was tho position the millers desired to be placed in today. The Premier said the Government had no intention of penalising the inHe promised to look carefully into the matter with a view of discovering the best remedy for, the difficulty.
