DAIRY PRODUCE REPORT. .Messrs F. Griffiths and Co. are in receipt of the following market report from their Loudon principals, .Messrs -Mills and Sparrow dated 14th June: Butter—The weather is still unsettled. There lias been some sunshine and we are still looking and hoping for the warm bright days which we generally have during June. Danish: The competition between "tinners" aud exporters has brought about a rise of three kroners. This is slightly more than was anticipated, but j choicest butter being in light supply, j buyers have had to pay the price. irench:. Advices just to hand state that the quantity of Brittany coming into the markets is increasing, and tliat prices are slightly .easier, but in Normanby, where the finest butter is produced, the supply is comparatively light and the demand exceptionally good, so that agents feel justified in advancing prices of baskets 2s. Siberian: Though some dairies are really very nice, the hulk are not up to standard, being mixed quality. The full-grass butter will not be here in any quantity for another week or so, and buyei s are waiting for these to come along, and we anticipate full prices will be realised, as the quality should then be at its best.
Xew Zealand: Some of the butters noil- arriving have evidently been stored in the colony, and are not opening up so well as agents would wish. The choicest are selling well, but if they do not pass the "choicest" standard they are difficult to dispose of.
Australian: The quantity of Victorian coming to hand is insignificant. Some of the Xew South Wales butter is very fine, and lias evidently been made in cool weather and under favorable conditions. These are making full prices. There is no arrival of Queensland this week. Cheese—The arrivals of new Canadian are increasing, and the market is easier all round. Many buyers are makinc these "good enough" rather than pay the extra money for choice fall-made Canadian or New Zealand, both of which are very superior in quality. Quotations.
