Hcnton, in a lengthy expressed the opinion "that trade during the year had. been distinctly good. Bankruptcies nau been few, and trade engagements had been fairly met. The export of leading products had fallen off, if anything, very sl'ightly. The export of gold also showed a slight decrease, while imports, by the latest figures obtainable, had increased by approximately £273.000. Air Water Gow was elected president for the ensuing year.
