ANOTHER SCOW ASHORE.
ALL HANDS SAFE. Per Press Association. Auckland, July 30. The scow Bravo was carried ashore at Pontana Bay, clou- to Whangarei, on Monday night. The scow had anchored in a sheltered position, but the author* dragged, and the vessel was swept ashore. The crew all lauded safely. The scow is said to lie ou a sandy beach. and to have sustained no damage. Sh? was bound troiu Ngunguru to I'at-roa. The crew are standing by the vessel. and it is expected >he will In- ll.aii.i without much difficulty. The Bravo waashore'near Cape Maria Van Diem.ui in January last. She was floated off, and eaine to Auckland, where she was repaired. She is owned by a local syndicate. The master's telegram to the local agents (Northern Coal Company) is as follows: "During an easterly jrale the Bravo dragged lit two anchors, and carried away the cable. There is a chance of getting her off if the weather moderates, but at present it is impossible to do anything, as the seas are breaking over the hull and rigging. The crew are all on shore." It has been derided to send a scow to Pontsna Bay to take off the Bravo's cargo of coal. A tug boat will then tow the Bravo off the beach.
