THE LATE EXHIBITION.
Per Press Association.. Christchurch, July 30, . The realisation of the Exhibition buildings and other property is turning out remarkably well. Mr Munro told a reporter to-day that, whereas the estate was at one time expected to realise £15,000, it was now pretty certain that the figure, when all was sold, would be at least £30,000. It will probably be six months, oven now, belore all the ground is entirely cleared of the various erections, the fencing, and all the debris of the Exhibition. The remaining pieces of the marble statuary, by Mr Sumniors of Melbourne, have been sold to the Tourist Department for £2OOO. -Thin must be regarded as satisfactory, seeing that the price paid by the Exhibition | was about £2OOO, and one of the pieces has since been sold for £BO. The statues are still lodged at the Christchurch ollice of the Department, but it is considered probable that Rolorua will be their final destination.
